Enemies

Wow. There's a crapload of different enemies for Duke to finish off this time around. Giant mutant rats and gators, mechanical horrors and of course the good old fashioned Pigcops we all know and love so very very well. The most interesting monsters are the little harmless roaches on the floors... Who, when they touch radioactive GLOPP turn into ten foot tall rampaging poison spewing monster. Step on roaches when you see them. :) No shooter would be complete without boss monsters as well. There's some really, really big nasty bosses in this games, and they're quite a treat to see and naturally, kill dead.

Areas

There's a vast number of areas you're going to be traveling through in you quest to put an end to Mech Morphix and his schemes of world domination and babe imprisonment. From the rooftops to the sewers, to Mech's various factories and hideouts, it's like a nightmare tour of New York's darkest places.

Controls

Remapable, but the defaults are pretty intuitive. Arrow keys are back and forth (You have to remember, it's a "side scroller" despite the fact that you can actually move in and around the scenery in some spots. (For instance, in spots with a flashing green arrow, you can move "in" or "out", for instance to go from one walkway to another. Up and down will crouch and/or climb ladders. CTRL jumps, ALT fires. It'll take a few minutes to get the hang of it, but once you do it's second nature. You can also use a gamepad.

AI

It's a sidescroller. They see you they shoot you. That's about the long and short of it, not really anything complicated here. :)

Manual

Basic manual, but then again it's not really a very complicated game. Gives you all the information you need, including a nice listing of all your default keybinds on the back. (The only part of the manual you actually NEED to read really.)

Multiplayer

None. Co-Op would have been cool though.

Bug Report

None found. Yay! :)

Conclusions

A fun little game, and well worth the purchase price. It's no Duke Nukem Forever, but it's kept me amused quite nicely for the past week or so. It's nice to get back to the simpler, old sk00l type games once in a while. DNMP presents itself very well with excellent 3D graphics, great level design and sweet music and sounds. It's cool to see a new take on such an old genre. Don't forget to stop, stomp the roses and use all the payphones on your way through the game. :)

And it's just so much fun busting caps in PigCops asses, and hearing Duke's wisecracking voice on my PC again. It's been far too long Duke, old buddy. Let's do it again sometime soon!
