firebomb, they do that sort of thing all the time
Marauder: er, no. I can tell you from experiance you actually don't have to
remove it at all.

Put it in a new case. Told them they "needed a new case" for some reason
Marauder: (and no, the PSU was fine)

Marauder: Gateways have a big duct that goes from an 8cm fan on the rear of
the case to the heatsink. but has no other cooling on the cpu.
Marauder: they didn't duct the p3 1.2 in the new case.

Marauder: Any ideas what happens to a P3 with just a heatsink on it?
!FT!VA_Killer: again, stupid.

Marauder: It melted the cpu right into the socket.

Marauder: they finally brought it to me. I felt like throwing it through their front window.

Marauder: Which had their licence sticker for windows on it.
